I took a look at this opportunity in June, 2003, as a senior at Rutgers University. I was just like every other college student, trying to fit class into my "party schedule."
I finally realized that being like every other college student wasn't going to get me the type of lifestyle that I wanted. So, I stopped hanging around people with my problems and started hanging around people with my solution.
As a result, I was able to hit the Executive Director position at the ripe age of 23. Months after earning my diploma most of the the students in my graduating class are still looking for decent jobs. Meanwhile, I never made a resume.
I'm truly starting to live life the way I want to and not the way I have to. Thanks to the Marathon Success Group, I'll always remember that in order to be a leader, you must be different. In order to lead the orchestra, you must first turn your back on the crowd.
